Morning River Run

Community has always been at the heart of Namara. Our Morning River Run is a simple idea that has evolved into something special, a monthly gathering that brings together colleagues, friends, and the community from across Limerick.

The very first Morning River Run took place from St Michael’s Rowing Club in Limerick City on Friday, 22nd September 2017. Now in its ninth year (with a brief pause during Covid), it remains as strong as ever, thanks to the incredible community that has made it a must-do event on the first Friday of every month.

Open to everyone, the run or walk has become a welcoming space for people living and working in and around Limerick. Some come for the exercise, some for the conversation and many for both, not to mention the array of buns, pastries, tea and coffee.

Marking the Moment Under Our New Name

On Friday, 9th January 2026, we held the first Morning River Run under the Namara name. A fantastic crowd turned out to mark the occasion, proudly wearing the new Namara colours before gathering afterwards for coffee, tea and a few well-earned treats.

For regulars, the post-run chat and banter are just as important as the kilometres covered and, of course, a few photos.

More Than a Run

The event itself is simple, but it represents something bigger: togetherness, connection and the importance of looking after both physical and mental wellbeing.

The smiles each month say it all.

If you would like to join us for the next run, keep an eye on our updates or contact our office to be added to the mailing list.

Long may it continue.
