Morning River Run

Community has always been at the heart of Namara. Our Morning River Run is a simple idea that has evolved into something special, a monthly gathering that brings together colleagues, friends, and the community from across Limerick.

The very first Morning River Run took place from St Michael’s Rowing Club in Limerick City on Friday, 22nd September 2017. Now in its ninth year (with a brief pause during Covid), it remains as strong as ever, thanks to the incredible community that has made it a must-do event on the first Friday of every month.

Open to everyone, the run or walk has become a welcoming space for people living and working in and around Limerick. Some come for the exercise, some for the conversation and many for both, not to mention the array of buns, pastries, tea and coffee.

Marking the Moment Under Our New Name

On Friday, 9th January 2026, we held the first Morning River Run under the Namara name. A fantastic crowd turned out to mark the occasion, proudly wearing the new Namara colours before gathering afterwards for coffee, tea and a few well-earned treats.

For regulars, the post-run chat and banter are just as important as the kilometres covered and, of course, a few photos.

More Than a Run

The event itself is simple, but it represents something bigger: togetherness, connection and the importance of looking after both physical and mental wellbeing.

The smiles each month say it all.

If you would like to join us for the next run, keep an eye on our updates or contact our office to be added to the mailing list.

Long may it continue.

Our Next Chapter: Introducing Namara

For over 75 years, our firm has supported businesses, individuals and families with clear, dependable advice. Built on trust and long-standing relationships, our history has shaped who we are today.

We now enter the next chapter of our firm as Namara, a name that reflects both our heritage and our future.

Why Namara

The name Namara is derived from the Irish “na mara,” meaning “of the sea.” In Irish culture, the sea symbolises navigation, resilience and depth, qualities that closely reflect our role as navigators of financial clarity and growth.

Just as the sea is constantly changing, so too is the financial landscape. Our role is to guide people and businesses through complexity, providing clarity, perspective and steady direction as circumstances evolve.

Rooted in Our History

Our rebrand is a nod to our founder, Patrick McNamara, who took over the firm in 1950 and laid the foundations for what has become one of the leading independent business and financial advisory firms in the Midwest of Ireland.

Many of our client relationships span generations, with families and businesses continuing to place their trust in us for decades on. That legacy of service, resilience and commitment remains central to who we are.

The Same Values, A Clearer Identity

While our name has evolved, our values have not.
Trust, care, expertise and long-term relationships continue to guide how we work, how we advise and how we collaborate with our clients.

Namara reflects:

  • The depth of our experience
  • The quality of our advice
  • Our commitment to long-term partnership
  • A firm focused on the future, grounded in strong foundations

Looking Ahead

Today, Namara is a modern business and financial advisory firm, supporting clients locally, nationally and internationally across accounting, tax, compliance, business advisory, financial planning and wealth management.

Our purpose remains clear: to collaborate, inspire and enable businesses and individuals to grow with confidence.

We look forward to continuing the journey with our clients, our people and our community under a name that truly reflects who we are.
